Prepreg carbon fibre fabric is a composite material consisting of carbon fibre fabric pre-impregnated with a precise amount of resin, typically epoxy or other thermosetting resins. The term "prepreg" stands for "pre-impregnated," indicating that the fabric is already impregnated with resin before use. This ensures uniform resin distribution throughout the fabric and precise control over the resin content and fibre alignment.

Prepreg carbon fibre fabric is produced through a carefully controlled manufacturing process, where the carbon fibre fabric is passed through a resin bath or coated with resin using other methods. The resin is then partially cured or "B-staged" to a tacky state, allowing it to adhere to other layers or substrates during layup or assembly.
Once the prepreg material is ready, it can be cut, layered, and formed into desired shapes before undergoing a final curing process, typically through heat and pressure, to fully cure the resin and create a rigid and durable composite structure.
